Smart energy startup Cohere raised a 300.000 euro seed round from an undisclosed group of an angel investor, a VC and a corporate. The investment is used to further develop Maxem, a clean energy management product for homes.

The Amsterdam-based startup in the past completed the Climate-KIC programma in Utrecht, and focused on EV charging back then. Now Cohere uses Maxem to link all sources of clean energy to each other, like the electric car and solar panels, creating a local smart grid.

"Our goals is to make every home and every EV 100 percent sustainable. This investment helps us to realize that", said Jan Willem Heinen, CEO.

Cleantech startups

Cohere is a startup under the holding of Transitions Now, a company which creates cleantech startups. Last year they launched the IoT startup LiveTech. Their management system for commercial EV's Viriciti also attended the Climate-KIC programme, and was in the UtrechtInc programmes as well.
