StartupDelta presents 1113 startup solutions from 27 countries for Sint Maarten. All solutions were bundled in an online book that was presented to the State Secretary for the Interior and Kingdom Relations Raymond Knops yesterday. Startup Solutions for Sint Maarten was launched at ImpactFest in on 26 September this year. The initiative called on startups to volunteer their thoughts on the reconstruction of Sint Maarten.
Startup Solutions
The startups offer waste solutions, energy solutions and smart housing solutions. These entrepreneurs can help build back Sint Maarten better, but it is also important to stimulate entrepreneurship on the island. Therefor StartupDelta is very pleased that the Ministry of Interior and Kingdom affairs are creating a makerspace for startups on Sint Maarten. Here foreign startups can make a soft landing on the island and provide mentoring for local startups.
The initiators
Startup Solution for Sint Maarten is organised in consultation with the Dutch National Coordinator for Reconstruction, the Netherlands Red Cross, and the Dutch Ministry of Defence. Additionally, organizations that are specialized in humanitarian innovation are involved, such as Open House, DCHI (Dutch Coalition for Humanitarian Innovation), Innofest and ImpactCity. Get in the Ring supported the initiatives by reaching out to their international network which led to an overwhelming response from the startup community.
