    Funding & Deals

    Blendle, the ‘iTunes for journalism’ bought Dutch curated news startup Paper. With the acquisition (details undisclosed) Blendle takes a bigger step in their curating activities.

    Amsterdam-based The Next Ad, an Instagram and Facebook ad campaign startup, has received 1.5 million euro from Dutch VC Newion Investments.

    Dutch company Takeaway.com took a bite out of its British competitor Just Eat, with an acquisition of the latter’s activities in The Netherlands and Belgium.

    3D Hubs announced a 7 million dollar (6.34 million euro – as of July, 15) series B investment led by EQT Ventures, followed by original backer Balderton Capital.

    After a successful pilot in 2015-2016, the City of Amsterdam is once again looking for startups with creative and viable solutions for social issues during Startups in Residence. The best startups will be backed by the city as investor or launching customer. Applications are now open!

    When it’s summer and you want to work, it’s time to go outside. There are plenty workplaces in the countryside, at the beach or in green urban areas.

    TechEU: Deliveroo, the London-based premium food delivery juggernaut, has raised a massive $275 million in Series E financing to support its rapid growth. The news comes on the heels of a contradictory announcement from Belgium-based Deliveroo rival Take Eat Easy, which is closing shop due to an inability to raise funding for its own expansion plans.

    Bloomberg: the home-sharing company Airbnb Inc. is raising $850 million, according to a disclosure filed with the state of Delaware. The equity round values the San Francisco-based company at $30 billion.
