Amsterdam-based start-up Lone Rooftop secured a 500k seed investment led by Dutch tech fund Mamadoo Ventures and backed by co-founder Reinoud Elhorst.
The software company, founded in 2014, hopes to further develop their technique with the money and expand the team.
Lone Rooftop makes buildings ‘smarter’ with their so-called position intelligence engine. Wi-Fi signals and algorithms are used to measure the amount of people in a certain location within the building, enhancing data-driven facility management, security and energy management among other possibilities.

The University of Wageningen is among the first organisations using the technology, developed and founded by former Hyves-colleagues Marcel Lamers, Jeroen Coumans and Reinoud Elhorst.
