Startup Envoy Constantijn van Oranje travels to Korea today to promote the Netherlands as the ‘place to be’ and gateway to Europe for Korean companies. Seven top-notch startups  (AgrenNewEnergy, Green Basilisk, Clear Flight Solutions, MANUS-VR, REDstack, Simbeyond and Widget Brain) are joining in to introduce their high-tech innovations to new business partners in Korea.. The Erasmus Centre for Entrepreneurship/Get in the Ring Foundation will also participate in the mission.

Highlights of the visit include the launch of the Startup Mentor Network Korea on November 21 and the Get in the Ring Special Edition on November 22.

The Startup Mentor Network consists of Dutch entrepreneurs and representatives/senior executives of Dutch companies in Korea who are ready to help Dutch startups when setting first steps on the Korean market.

The Get in the Ring Special Edition will take place at NAVER’s D2 Startup Factory in Gangnam’s ‘startup valley’. Dutch and Korean startups will pitch their products and services to an audience that includes incubators, accelerators and investors.

The event will culminate in MOU signings, networking and matchmaking. This promises to be a grand finale where business opportunities for startups will be materialized.

The startup mission follows up on the official visit of Prime Minister Mark Rutte to Korea in September, when both countries agreed to help Dutch startups find their way to the Korean market (and vice versa) by facilitating access to business partners, accelerator programs and VC’s: an ‘Orange Bridge’ for startups. The Dutch tech Startups participating have worked closely with the Netherlands Embassy in Seoul and StartupDelta to make sure their visit to Korea will lead to tangible results!

StartupDelta Envoy Constantijn will continue on to Shanghai on 23 November.
