Here’s what happened in the Dutch startup scene last week.

Funding & News

Google acqui-hired the startup Pie, the Slack competitor based in Singapore, founded by Dutchies Pieter Walraven and Thijs Jacobs.

US startup Nextdoor, which aims to make contacts in your neighbourhood, launched last week in The Netherlands.

Impact fund SHIFT Invest is adding 25 million euro to its funds with the accession of Topfonds Gelderland. The money will be used to invest in agro, food and health innovations.

Vandebron, the online marketplace for buying green energy straight from the source, received an investment of 2 million euro from the climate fund Amsterdamse Klimaat- en Energiefonds (Akef).

Trading app Bux scooped up a third investment of 6.1 million euro, led by German VC Holtzbrinck Ventures.

The Leiden-based biotech startup Toxys received a “substantial amount” of series A funding from Zeeuws Investment Fund (ZIF) and InnovationQuarter.

Amsterdam-based telecommunication startup OPNT secured a seed investment of 500.000 euro from the Dutch branch of technology fund Cottonwood.
