Nils Beers
Director StartupDelta
At the age of 22, Nils started his first company that built speedboats on solar power. After this, he was asked to develop new business for BAM, one of the largest construction companies of Europe with clients like Tesla, and he got another taste of the startup world by working for a well-funded scale up for electronic locking devices Clay. He then became the commercial director of Yes!Delft, the largest and most respected tech incubator of Europe. At StartupDelta Nils’ entrepreneurial mindset and commercial experience are essential in building the 1 innovation nation of Europe, together with corporates and leading policymakers.
Katja Berkhout
International Liaison
Katja has over 15 years of experience in international business advisory and economic development in Northern America and Europe. She is passionate about connecting innovators across industries and liaising between public- with private organisations for positive impact.
Before joining StartupDelta, Katja took a deep dive in the Greater Boston area innovation ecosystem. Here she worked with innovation driven enterprises and corporates, advising them on EU expansion and setting up their operations on the Westcoast of Europe.
Back in the Netherlands Katja worked with StartupDelta 1.0 and Venture Cafe Foundation in Rotterdam on strengthening and connecting the Dutch innovation ecosystem and building our innovation community.
Katja’s international experience, network and her knowledge of the opportunities in the our local and global Dutch tech networks will help her liaise more international opportunities for Dutch startups and international investors at StartupDelta.
Myrthe Hooijman
Government affairs and Hub partnerships
Myrthe has a broad experience working with entrepreneurs from previous roles as an innovation advisor within the Human Health Sector and as an account manager for funding issues for entrepreneurs. In the previous years, Myrthe worked as a policy advisor at the Ministry of Economic Affairs where she became an advocate for flexible and empowering policies to help innovative companies start, fund and grow their business. Her passion is to connect the various key players in the ecosystem and by doing this accelerating and increasing the collective impact. At StartupDelta Myrthe will be the linking pin between StartupDelta and the regional innovation hubs and policymakers.
With Nils, Katja and Myrthe on board StartupDelta will enter a new phase with an energetic and enthusiastic team that is fully committed to making the Netherlands the number 1 innovation nation of Europe.
Together we will work on connecting our startups and coolest deep tech solutions to the best networks of investors, innovators and corporates. Because after all, our startups are the best arguments that the Netherlands is a true innovation nation.
